This letter may come as a surprise since we have never met. I want to assure you that I have no intention of causing you any discomfort, which is why I am reaching out to you through this medium.
As you read this, please don't feel sorry for me, as I believe everyone will die someday. My name is Yusof Abu Al-Hashimi, a merchant from Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. I have been diagnosed with prostate and esophageal cancer, which was discovered very late due to my neglect of my health. It has resisted all forms of treatment, and according to medical experts, I only have a few months left to live.
I have not lived my life well, as I never really cared for anyone, not even myself, but my business. Although I am very wealthy, I was never generous. I was always hostile to people and only focused on my business because that was all I cared about. But now I regret this because I realize there is more to life than just making money. If I had a second chance, I would live my life differently.
Knowing that my time is near, I have willed and given most of my properties and assets to my family and a few close friends and schools in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. I have decided to donate to charity organizations as one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in Malaysia, Japan, and Indonesia. But now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I can no longer do this myself. I asked my family to help, but they failed me.
